Welcome to Charlie's Blog

Welcome to everyone visiting Charlie's Blog. With the numerous activities at the hospital and with chemo, it has become impossible to re-contact everyone and thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers. We know there are many of you who cannot travel to see Charlie, but are keeping him in your prayers and close to your heart. We will try to post as often as possible to keep you up to date on how Charlie is doing - and keep you filled-in on his most latest Charbonic qotes. (We all know he comes up with some good ones!)

Trip to have Stints Replaced

So this week dad went to have the new and improved stints replaced! He fasted for 12 hours, had the I.V. in place, resting well and then.....the nurse comes in. "Mr. Del Fava, we have a problem." This is akin to "Houston, we have a problem..."

Dad, Geri and Scott are all there...waiting with baited breath...."yes....do tell."

"Uhhhh, Mr. Del Fava....we forgot to order the parts for this surgery."

Dad, Geri and Scott simultaneously say "what the #$^%$###?" How could this happen....

"uhhhhh, Mr. Del Fava....I take full responsibility, but there was a mis-communication."

Okay, so now the three of them are thinking "No kidding???? Really? A mis-communication?"

So dad is sent home; the nurse has ordered the "parts" and surgery will now take place the first week in April.

If you haven't heard the story from the source, you will soon. The best part is...there was a man in the next room who might have had some prostate problems. We know this because the nurse was overheard telling him "There is a string hanging from your penis, DO NOT PULL IT!"

Life is a bowl of cherries! Ya gotta laugh at this.....wow.

More good news...seriously...Dad's PSA is down to 1.2!!!!!! Whoooo Hoooo! We are all doing the happy dance! God Bless. Your prayers, thoughts and good wishes have kept this family somewhat sane and moving in the right direction!! Thank you! Thank you!!

Janet
