Welcome to Charlie's Blog

Welcome to everyone visiting Charlie's Blog. With the numerous activities at the hospital and with chemo, it has become impossible to re-contact everyone and thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers. We know there are many of you who cannot travel to see Charlie, but are keeping him in your prayers and close to your heart. We will try to post as often as possible to keep you up to date on how Charlie is doing - and keep you filled-in on his most latest Charbonic qotes. (We all know he comes up with some good ones!)

Tomorrow is Homecoming - - well for us, anyway! Charlie has enough physical strength to hit the road HOME! Finally. Will keep everyone posted on his progress. Thank you to everyone for your thoughts, prayers, cards and well wishes! It worked!!

It has been awhile since I last posted and now want to get everyone up-to-date! Dad received the results of his PSA on Friday, and it went DOWN by half! This is good news! High PSA=Bad; Low PSA=Good. So, after the chemo-from-hell, PSA is moving in the right direction. A scan is planned for next week and the week after that we will get the results. Also, dad is feeling better, getting out of bed a lot more often and generally doing really well - - all things considered! He is still at the Center in Healdsburg and receives physical therapy M-F. Prayers and good thoughts are working!

Today was the visit with Dr. Keiser. Nothing new at this time. The doctor is evaluating blood work, and ordered some scans and tests. Results will not be for a couple of weeks! Will keep you posted. Thank you for all your calls and cards!

Dad is still at the Skilled Nursing Facility in Healdsburg. He continues to receive physical therapy and exercise to build his stamina. The progress is very slow, but there is progress! Blood sugar is being controlled, all other functions appear to be normal, too. We have no release date from the SNF, but all hope he will gain enough strength to go home very soon. He doesn't talk too much which indicates, I think, that he still doesn't feel too good or is very tired. That's it from Healdsburg! Thank you for following Charlie's progress and all the good thoughts, cards and prayers.
